This new build private residence designed to retain the original character from the former mens baths house is a completely unique and complex project. We was instructed to deliver the full new build brickwork, stone and internal court yard restoration. Among some of the complex features was the choice of bond which was carefully selected to repeat over 7 courses including varying cuts to create and blend the varying architectural details of the facades, including hand built elliptical stepped arches, corbelled hidden gutters, dutch gable and central bonnet arch. Every reveal was a different angle and built using a purpose made corner brick that returned the full depth of the reveal. The Petersen Kolumba bricks have been laid in a lime mortar to create a tile like off white facade that sits over looking the Hove seafront.
